The 23-year-old, who is the reigning back-to-back World Youth champion, has excelled on the Ally Pally stage and showed no nerves as he overcame the experienced Scotsman in a high-scoring encounter. Van Veen will need to produce a similar display if he hopes to overcome Littler and lift the trophy for the first time.
