Every time someone at ZDNET publishes a deal on Apple AirTags, I go buy a few more so that every key, vehicle, bike, and other major item that leaves the house can be found. However, I also use Android phones as part of my job, so I was very pleased to spend the last few days with the latest KeySmart Gen 3 SmartCard that supports both Apple FindMy and Google Find Hub.

Just to be clear, mobile enthusiasts like me cannot connect both iPhone and Android devices to the new SmartCard at the same time, as one primary network is required to track the card. If you want to switch it up between phones, and I often switch my primary SIM to other phones while testing, then you can perform a simple hard reset of the card to connect it to another device.
It’s thin

The Gen 3 SmartCard is very thin at just 1.8mm and slides into my minimalist wallet with ease. Given that I have a credit card, driver’s license, transit card, and door access card in my wallet, the KeySmart SmartCard is an essential accessory that provides daily peace of mind. It is also IPX8 water-resistant, so it functions well here in the wet Pacific Northwest.
A single card is priced at $39.99, but you can save money with a three-pack ($89.99) or five-pack ($129.99), so you can share it with your family and slide it in more gear that you want to keep track of.

11-month battery
As sleek as the SmartCard is, the battery should last you up to 11 months. Obviously, only having it for three days before the news hit, I cannot verify the battery life. The SmartCard charges up wirelessly, so you can just set it down on your wireless charger to top it off. I like that I can use my Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 with reverse wireless charging to power up the card.

There is a single integrated button on the back of the card to initiate pairing, but otherwise, it looks like a plain black credit card with some white-colored labeling on it. The onboard chime is pretty loud for such a sleek device, and you can also get pop-up left-behind notifications if you enable that in your settings.
