Samsung has opened the One UI 8.5 beta program to Galaxy S24 series users in the US, UK, India, and Korea. Based on Android 16 QPR2, this next major software version is now rolling out to the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra ahead of a stable release.
One UI 8.5 incorporates many of the changes that first appeared on Samsung’s newest flagships. It integrates Galaxy AI tools, such as smoother photo editing workflows and quicker access to AI options, and adds a new direct voicemail function that lets callers record a message on-device with live transcription. It also offers a partial-screen recorder, an updated Quick Panel with more customization options, a new battery section, and accessibility tools like Dwell action and Corner actions.
If you’re a Galaxy S24 owner, you can join the One UI 8.5 beta in the Samsung Members app by tapping the One UI 8.5 beta banner, registering your Samsung account, and then downloading the update via the software update menu in system settings.
Samsung says the One UI 8.5 beta will come to more Galaxy devices this April.
