Samsung’s latest One UI update, One UI 9, has brought a long-awaited feature to the Galaxy status bar: live network speeds. The change comes with an updated version of Good Lock, in which the QuickStar module now lets users enable a network speed indicator on supported devices.
Users first need to install or update Samsung’s Good Lock app on phones that run One UI 9. After that, they can open QuickStar and enable the network speed indicator option in its status and icon settings, as spotted by SammyGuru.
Once they turn it on, the status bar starts to show current upload and download speeds, which update in real time. This experience goes well with what many rival Android skins have already given as a built‑in toggle for years now. The update also adds a blue indicator that appears when an app uses location.
As of now, the network speed indicator is linked to Good Lock rather than the device’s main settings. The good news is that, as of last year, Good Lock is available globally, so it’s a fairly accessible option, despite the steps required to activate this feature.
