iPhone 18 Pro colors just leaked — here’s what to expect

Apple certainly attracted a lot of attention with the Cosmic Orange paint job it introduced with the iPhone 17 Pro, which is likely why I see that color in the wild around New York City more than any other option. However, the latest leak is giving us our first glimpse of what to reach for next with the iPhone 18 Pro.

Reliable leaker Ice Universe shared a photo on Weibo (via Apple Insider) of what appears to be potential colorways for the iPhone 18 Pro, showcasing four distinct colors: Black, Silver, Burgundy, and Blue. The latter two, in particular, stand in stark contrast to Cosmic Orange, leaning into a much moodier aesthetic.

Historically, it is uncommon for Apple to recycle hero colors regardless of their popularity, so I’m not surprised by this possible shift in the lineup. That said, the origin of this photo remains unverified because it could easily stem from an accessory maker rather than Apple’s direct supply chain.

Earlier this year, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported that Apple was pursuing a “deep red” colorway. While this specific burgundy shade doesn’t appear quite as saturated as the (PRODUCT) RED variants of the past, it still stands out as a sophisticated hero color. Personally, I think it could be just as memorable as the iPhone 13 Pro’s Alpine Green or the iPhone 14 Pro’s Deep Purple.

The other rumored colorway, Blue, is notably brighter than Apple’s previous pro shades — including the Deep Blue on the current iPhone 17 Pro. In fact, it’s one of the brightest shades of blue I can recall for a Pro model, and it’ll be interesting to see if it has more pull than Burgundy. Most likely, though, Apple’s official marketing names will likely end up being something entirely different.

The only other notable detail in this photo is the trio of cutouts on the right for the LED flash, LiDAR scanner, and rear microphone. All three appear significantly wider than the cutouts on the current iPhone 17 Pro, which reinforces the idea that these are accessory covers rather than internal parts. Even so, I wouldn’t be shocked if the colors themselves turn out to be accurate, given how closely Apple coordinates with third-party manufacturers.
