“Spider-Noir”, the new live-action Spider-Man-adjacent series from Amazon/MGM Studios, stars Nicolas Cage in his first leading TV role. The show features Ben Reilly (Cage) as a grizzled private investigator in 1930s New York, who grapples with his past life as Spider in this detective-style TV show.

Below is our guide to watching “Spider-Noir” from anywhere with a VPN.

‘Spider-Noir’ release date and streaming options

The “Spider-Noir” series arrives on MGM+ on Monday, May 25 at 2:30 p.m. ET, and then lands on Prime Video on Thursday, May 27 across all regions.

    • U.S. — MGM+ / Prime Video
    • Global — Prime Video

Remember in “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” when Cage voiced the hilarious Spider-Noir? Well, now the Oscar winner bringing the character to life in this new live-action TV series.

Cage imbued the character with a dry wit and a penchant for the theatrical in that animated hit, and we’re sure he’ll do much of the same in this new show, too. Even better, though, we’ll get to see him kick butt in style, with the trailer promising lots of gritty action alongside the more procedural, sleuth storylines.

This show looks completely different to your usual “Spider-Man” movie. For a start, it’s in black and white and it’s a period piece, taking us back to 1930s NNY. The fun thing is, though, you can actually choose to watch in monochrome or switch to a color version of the series. Clever, huh?

There are eight episodes of “Spider-Noir”, and this will be the first time the character has been depicted in live-action. He was only created in 2009 for the Marvel comics, so it’s been a relatively quick journey from page to screen. But, with a character this cool and intriguing, that’s not surprising.

If you’re ready to swing into action, read on and find out how to watch “Spider-Noir” online from anywhere in the world.

Can I watch ‘Spider-Noir’ for free?

Unfortunately not, as the global rollout for “Spider-Noir” is on Prime Video, which is a pay-TV service.

Prime Video do offer 30-day free trials, though, to new subscribers, so if you’ve never signed up before, then you could get one.

Remember, if you’re not in your home country now, you’ll need a VPN, we recommend NordVPN, to watch your regular stream from abroad.

If you have access to the MGM+ linear cable channel, you’ll be able to watch all the episodes of “Spider-Noir” on May 25, 2026 from 2:30 p.m. ET. All 45-minute episodes will be shown one after another on the channel.

Please note, the show will not be on the MGM+ standalone app.

However, if you don’t mind waiting two days, you can catch all the episodes on Prime Video from Wednesday, May 27.

Outside the U.S.? Don’t worry, you can still watch “Spider-Noir” when you download a service like NordVPN (75% off) and change your location back to the U.S. Check below for more details on that process…

    Watch ‘Spider-Noir’ from anywhere

Traveling and blocked from your usual streaming services? A VPN, or virtual private network, lets your device appear to be back in your home country so you can securely use your existing subscriptions while abroad.

Tom’s Guide recommends NordVPN for streaming because it offers fast speeds, works across loads of devices and comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Using a VPN is incredibly simple.

    1. Install the VPN of your choice. As we’ve said, NordVPN is our favorite.

    2. Choose the location you wish to connect to in the VPN app. For instance, if you’re outside the U.S. but want to watch the show as usual, you’d select a U.S. server from the list.

    3. Sit back and enjoy. Head over to your streaming platform of choice (Prime Video in this case) and watch “Spider-Noir”.

How to watch ‘Spider-Noir’ on Prime Video globally

If you’re outside the U.S., your only option for watching “Spider-Noir” will be to watch the show on Amazon Prime Video.

Whether you’re in the U.K. or Australia, or even Canada, the series will drop in its entirety on Prime from Wednesday, May 27.

    ‘Spider-Noir’ synopsis

An aging and down-on-his-luck private investigator in 1930s New York is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero.

Why is ‘Spider-Noir’ in black and white or color?

Speaking at a Sony event about the decision to release the series in both black and white and color versions, star Nicolas Cage said:

“I’m all about the black and white. I designed my performance for black and white. And I’m glad I saw it that way.

“It was actually one of my ideas to have them shoot it in color because I’m aware of teenagers, and I’m aware they don’t have that much experience with black and white.”
