Google has started rolling out Android 17 to Pixel phones. The update comes after months of previews and betas and now arrives as part of the June 2026 Pixel Drop for supported models.
Android 17 is for all Pixel devices from the Pixel 6 series up to the latest Pixel 10 family, including the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold. (This also includes the Pixel 10a and other Tensor‑powered devices.) Google’s official list and independent reports indicate that users will receive the update gradually over the coming days and weeks via standard over‑the‑air downloads.
The update has been a bit underwhelming, at least for this first drop. Google says Android 17 brings new Bubbles multitasking that lets apps float on top of others, making it easier to jump between conversations, but I haven’t gotten that to work yet.

Screen Reactions, a tool aimed at content creators, captures video from the display and the selfie camera simultaneously. Foldable owners also get a gaming mode that splits the unfolded screen into gameplay on the top half and virtual controls on the bottom, mimicking handheld consoles like the Nintendo DS. Google says it’s “reduced frame drops and stutters by making memory cleanup more efficient,” which should improve the gaming experience somewhat.
Android 17 gives Find Hub a stronger “Mark as Lost” mode with biometric locks, adds finer controls for location permissions, and brings UI tweaks like a minimalist home‑screen layout, deeper dark‑theme controls, and separate assistant volume sliders. But still misses out on many of the updates teased by Google at I/O 2026 Android edition.
It’s expected that the June Pixel Drop, which is rolling out alongside Android 17, will further enhance supported phones.
