If you were in the market for a new RTX 5090 graphics card and want something unique to go with it, Gigabyte is bundling a full gram of pure gold with each of its 40th anniversary special editions of the card, TechSpot reports. You need to be a resident of Taiwan to pre-order the card, then register it with Gigabyte to get it…but either way, gold!

Gigabyte turns 40 this year and has a long, storied history of motherboard production and innovation, especially in recent years with graphics cards and power supplies. It developed the first software-controlled PSU in 2007, and was the first to launch a Z68 motherboard with an onboard mSATA connection in 2011. And now it’s bundling gold with GPUs.

Gigabyte has launched several products to celebrate its 40th anniversary, but the flagship is its special-edition Aorus Infinity RTX 5090. It’s a heavily overclocked, specially binned version of the now-classic RTX 5090. It has the same 32GB of GDDR7 VRAM and dual 16-pin power connectors, but the boost clock has been raised significantly to 2,730MHz—over 300MHz more than the reference card’s.

As you might expect from a special edition of what is already the most expensive consumer GPU, this 40th anniversary card is even more expensive. It’s listed at NT$165,000, or around $5,250. The “gram of 999 pure gold” is worth around $185. So, a slight savings if you sell it?

Regardless of what you do with the gold when you have it, keen buyers who also reside in Taiwan have until June 7 to pre-order the card, then send Gigabyte the invoice for the purchase to receive the “gold item.”
