    Insignia/ZDNET

The Insignia F50 is an incredibly budget-friendly smart TV, offering many of the same features as its premium cousins, including the Fire TV platform, built-in Alexa voice controls, and HDR10 support. And right now at Best Buy, you can pick up the 70-inch version for $150 off, bringing the price down to just $350 — just in time to upgrade your home theater for the FIFA World Cup quarterfinals.

Also: How to disable ACR on your TV

The Insignia F50 is built for streaming, featuring the Fire TV platform for access to the entire Prime library of movies, shows, and music. You’ll also get support for hundreds of other apps, and a suite of preloaded, popular options like Netflix, HBO Max, and YouTube, so you can start watching right out of the box.

The 70-inch screen gives you 4K resolution for a clean, crisp image and details enhanced by HDR10 support. A 60Hz refresh rate gives you smooth motion for everything from live sports to console gaming. And with DTS Virtual:X audio, the Insignia F50 has decent audio to match, making it a great choice for a multipurpose centerpiece or as a second screen in your bedroom, kids’ playroom, or gaming space.

Also: How to disable HDMI-CEC on your TV

With support for AirPlay, you’ll be able to stream music, photos, and video from your iOS devices directly to your TV for more ways to keep friends and family entertained. The Insignia F50 supports Bluetooth connectivity for setting up wireless speakers and soundbars for the ultimate home theater, or you can use the HDMI eARC port for a hardwired connection. Parents can even set up passcodes and guardrails to help prevent kids from accessing inappropriate media and apps.

    How I rated this deal

Insignia is already a very budget-friendly TV brand, but being able to pick up a 70-inch screen for less than $500 almost feels like stealing. The Fire TV platform gives you access to thousands of movies, shows, and streaming apps, as well as Alexa Skills and built-in voice controls. You’ll also get 4K resolution, DTS Virtual: X sound, and HDR10 support. That’s why I gave this deal a 4/5 Editor’s rating.
