The biggest highlight about Nectar is that you can expect near-permanent discounts in the year-round Nectar mattress sales. In other words, it’s highly unlikely that you will ever have to pay the ‘total value’ price on the brand’s official website.
A queen Classic Memory Foam maintains a $649 price tag (‘total value’ $1,615), while a Hybrid in the same size will cost you $799 (‘total value’ $1,892).
This means you always have a chance of bringing home an excellent-value bed, even outside of the big events like the upcoming Memorial Day mattress sales.

The core difference between the Classic variants is their design and structure.
Like the best memory foam mattresses, the Nectar Classic Memory Foam has a simple all-foam build.
The foams begin with a 1-inch pressure-relieving foam layer, which contours to the sleeper, followed by 3 inches of responsive foam, providing sturdy support to ensure correct spinal alignment. Below that is a thick 8-inch foundational foam layer for dampening movement and enhancing overall stability.
The Classic Hybrid, meanwhile, has the same 1-inch of memory foam for pressure relief, but below that the design changes up.
Next up is 2 inches of responsive foam, and then an 8-inch layer of individually wrapped innerspring coils, which help reduce motion transfer, and add to the overall support and airflow of the mattress. The coils are also higher gauge at the edges, which Nectar explain is to ensure effective edge support. Below that is a 1-inch layer of foundational foam.
The thicker foam layers of the Memory Foam, particularly at the base, indicate the bed was designed for firm support, while the Hybrid’s design points to a softer feel that is likely to provide more contouring comfort.

Both the Nectar Classic models are topped by a soft-to-touch anti-microbial poly-blend cover with cooling fibers. At the bottom of each, you’ll find a shift-resistant, durable fabric cover acting as a protective base layer, enveloping both mattresses.
Nectar Classic Memory Foam vs Hybrid mattress: Comfort & Support

Based on our in-house tests, we rate the Nectar Classic Memory Foam as firm and the Hybrid as a medium-firm bed.
According to our testers, the Classic Memory Foam is rated 7.5 out of 10 on the firmness scale (10 being the firmest), while Nectar themselves rate it even firmer, at 8.5 out of 10.
Our lead tester, an average-weight combination sleeper (side and back), found the mattress to deliver superior support and firmness. But if you’re looking for a plush ‘sink-in’ memory foam feel, you’ll be disappointed.
As a firmer all-foam bed, we felt it was best suited back sleepers and some side sleepers (those who like firmer support and heavier weight sleepers). Lighter weight stomach sleepers should also feel enough support, while the responsive feel of the mattress makes it a good choice for combination sleepers.

The medium-firm Classic Hybrid, on the other hand, was slightly softer with more contouring, cradling comfort around the hips and shoulders, which side sleepers would enjoy.
Our lead tester rated this mattress at a 6 out 10 on the firmness scale, compared to the 8 out of 10 in firmness that Nectar advertise.
Our side-sleeping tester praised the pressure relief, saying in this position, her “joints and limbs [felt] weightless.” However, we felt the Classic Hybrid didn’t provide enough support for back and front sleepers.
Overall, we scored the Classic Memory Foam 3 out of 5 for pressure relief, while the Classic Hybrid received 3.5 out of 5.
The Classic Memory Foam scored marginally better (3.5 out of 5) than the Classic Hybrid (3 out of 5) for motion isolation. During objective tests on the Classic Memory Foam, large movements could be felt distinctly, the mattress then stabilized that motion quickly. And our panel concurred, noting that when sleeping on the bed, movements from a restless partner were unlikely to actively disturb sleep.
The Classic Hybrid, on the other hand, had “good, but far from exceptional” motion isolation capabilities, our reviewer noted. Though this it not uncommon for hybrid mattresses. Objective testing showed motion transferred considerably, and movements closer to a sleeper were particularly likely to be felt, while our lead tester reported that she noticed her partner shifting positions when sleeping on the bed.

Nectar Classic Memory foam vs Hybrid mattress: Temperature Regulation

- The Hybrid was “hit and miss” at regulating temperature, while the Memory Foam retained heat in tests but slept neutral in spring
Neither the Nectar Classic Memory Foam nor the Classic Hybrid have any actively cooling elements, except for the top cover. But we’ve seen that the innerspring coils in the best hybrid mattresses often lead to better airflow and breathability.
However, our Classic Hybrid reviewer described the temperature regulation on this mattress as “hit and miss.” She noted that she and other members of the testing panel “overheated” while sleeping on this bed, but pointed out she never woke up actively sweating.
The Classic Memory Foam, meanwhile, showed significant heat absorption and retention during our thermal imaging tests, but our lead tester (who is not a hot sleeper) found it slept at a neutral temperature during spring weather.
The Classic Hybrid scored a 3 out of 5 for temperature regulation, while we awarded the Classic Memory Foam 3.5 out of 5. This indicates that while they may be adequate for some sleepers, if you’re a particularly hot sleeper, you may be better off opting for one of the best cooling mattresses on the market.
