I love the Google Pixel 10a for the camera quality it delivers, but I’ll freely admit the official $499 price is off-putting for what’s ultimately a warmed-up 9a. Thankfully, that isn’t an issue at the moment — Amazon is selling the Pixel 10a for $100 off during Prime Day 2026, making this budget phone much easier to justify.

That lowers the base price of the 10a to $399, and you’ll see a similar $100 discount for the black (Obsidian) 256GB model. Amazon is charging nearly $22 more for other 256GB colors, although that’s still a good deal.
My favorite budget camera phone, now priced right
It punches well above its weight
The Pixel 10a is the definition of a minor hardware upgrade. Compared to the 9a, it has a brighter 6.3-inch screen with thinner bezels, tougher glass, a flush rear camera module, slightly faster charging, and emergency satellite service. You still get the same Tensor G4 chip, camera array (48MP main, 13MP ultrawide, 13MP selfie), and 5,100mAh battery.
Starting at $399, however, that makes it the phone to beat in its price class for mobile photography. Photos are vibrant and sharp in most conditions thanks to Google’s processing, and you get most AI features such as Best Take (for the best faces in group shots) and Magic Eraser (to get rid of photobombers).

No longer just an afterthought.
The Tensor G4 is plenty quick at this price point, and the exceptional battery life (I’ve never run out in a single day) makes the 10a ideal for long photo excursions with my family. I also appreciate receiving Google’s latest software as quickly as possible — I was eligible for Android 17 from day one, which you can’t say for some phones costing two or three times more.
You do miss out on Google’s most advanced on-device AI (no Gemini Intelligence here) due to 8GB of RAM. And if you need more performance, you’re better off either getting a Pixel 10 Pro or waiting for the likely Pixel 11 series later this summer. For $399, though, the Pixel 10a is hard to top for everyday snapshots.
