Having your phone battery die at the worst possible time can be horrifying. Whether you’re using maps to navigate, stuck on a long commute on a delayed train, or trying to kill hours at the airport before a flight, a charged phone is essential. A power bank is the most obvious fix, but they aren’t always the easiest to carry around.
The typical high-capacity power bank is a chunky grey brick. While the looks don’t necessarily matter, the extra pocket or backpack space does. These are the problems INIU solves with the Pocket Rocket P50. It’s one of the smallest 10,000mAh 45W power banks you can buy, and it looks pretty great too. Here’s what you need to know.
Small, lightweight, and stylish
The headline feature of the INIU Pocket Rocket P50 is its size. It weighs just 160 grams, barely heavier than your smartphone, and it’s roughly the size of a French macaron. It’s about as thick as a deck of cards and slips into a jeans pocket, a small purse, or the side pocket of a backpack without you needing to struggle to fish it out.
This doesn’t mean a compromised capacity, though. It packs a full 10,000mAh, which is enough to fully recharge most phones twice. Normally, this kind of capacity is only available with power banks that are noticeably bulkier and heavier. INIU fixes that with its TinyCell Pro battery tech, resulting in a charger that’s about 45% smaller than a typical model.
There’s also a style angle to consider, which isn’t often a selling point for power banks. While black, gray, or white are the standard with other devices, the P50 is available in six colorways: Moonlit Vanilla, Blossom Pink, Glacier Blue, Oasis Mint, Twilight Purple, and Bonfire Black. For anyone who likes to stylize their smartphone accessories, the Pocket Rocket P50 is already camera-ready.
45W fast charging makes a difference
Size means nothing if charging is slow. And this is where many compact power banks fall short, offering at most 22.5W charging. Meanwhile, the P50 doubles that with 45W wired fast charging.
With these charging speeds, you can charge most Android smartphones and iPhones up to 70% in just 25 minutes. Even a 10-minute charge will be more than enough to get you at least half a day of use.
The P50 supports Power Delivery (PD), Qualcomm Quick Charge (QC), and Samsung Super Fast Charging 2.0, so whether you’re on an iPhone, a Pixel, a Samsung phone, most tablets, or even a handheld gaming console, you’ll get the fastest charging speed possible.
It also has enough ports to charge a couple of devices simultaneously, with both USB-C and USB-A available.
Safety and everyday use
A power bank tends to get jostled around in your bag and, when used outside, can sometimes get too hot in direct sunlight. The INIU Pocket Rocket P50’s safety features address any potential issues.
There’s a proper thermal management system, a Temp-Guard multi-tab battery cell for better heat handling, and an NVIDIA-grade inductor that keeps things cool without adding bulk. There’s also an E-Marker chip that manages charging safely.
You’ll also find little touches that make everyday use a breeze. The integrated lanyard doubles as a USB-C cable, so you don’t have to dig around for a separate one. A small digital display on the device shows you exactly how much juice it has left, so you don’t have to guess from random flashing LEDs. And when the P50 itself runs dry, it fully recharges in about two hours. It’s also airline-friendly, making it the ideal travel companion.
