This week, Google Labs launched the oddly named Dreambeans, an experimental app that uses Gemini’s Personal Intelligence to build daily AI‑generated story feeds from users’ own Google services. The mobile app, available on Android and iOS, connects to Gmail, Calendar, Photos, YouTube, and Search history to create a small set of personalized stories each day.
Google says Dreambeans focuses on surfacing what matters most to users instead of creating another infinite social or news feed. Personalized feeds combine text, recommendations, and AI illustrations based on user photos and activity. These stories can show upcoming plans, recent purchases, trips, interests, and ideas, which can lead to planning outings, following up on emails, and other individualized activities. Users can tap their feeds to go deeper into a topic, search related information, or save stories.
The app uses on‑device and cloud models to personalize both content and visuals. For scenes involving people or familiar places, Dreambeans can use signals from Google Photos to create cartoon‑style imagery that reflects a user’s life in a more personal way.
Google says only the account holder can see these stories, and users can control which apps to connect, adjust recommendations, disconnect services, or remove data at any time.
For now, Dreambeans is available only in the United States for Google AI Ultra subscribers aged 18 and older. Users who meet these criteria can download the app and sign in with a personal Google account, while others can join a waitlist.
