Samsung’s Gallery app will end its built-in OneDrive integration this fall, according to Microsoft’s official support documentation. Though you’ll still be able to back up your smartphone photos on OneDrive, the direct Gallery-to-OneDrive sync path will no longer exist after Sept. 30, 2026.
Samsung originally relied on Microsoft’s cloud service after it shut down its own Gallery Sync and Samsung Cloud Drive options. It’s been said that Samsung is developing its own cloud-based photo backup tool again, with Gallery expected to have tighter hooks into Samsung’s services instead of Microsoft’s.
In the meantime, users in some regions have already begun to report that Samsung Gallery won’t let them link their OneDrive accounts. Microsoft also recommends that Gallery users sign up for OneDrive’s own camera roll backup tool to keep their photos safe.
Microsoft’s support documentation confirms that photos already synced between Samsung Gallery and OneDrive will remain available through OneDrive’s mobile app and web client.
