Tahar Rahim and Izuka Hoyle lead Sky’s new six-part thriller, and its setup is simple enough to sell itself. In “Prisoner”, Hoyle plays Amber Todd, a principled prison transport officer and new mother assigned to escort Rahim’s high-value inmate, Tibor Stone, to the Old Bailey, where he’s due to testify against an elite crime syndicate.

When their convoy is ambushed, Amber and Tibor are left as the only survivors, handcuffed together and forced into an uneasy alliance while on the run across the UK.
The series comes from Academy Award-nominated writer Matt Charman and is directed by BAFTA winner Otto Bathurst, which gives it a stronger creative pedigree than the average chase thriller.
Eddie Marsan, Catherine McCormack, Finn Bennett, Leonie Benesch, Sam Troughton and Laurie Davidson fill out the supporting cast, while Sky is positioning the show as a full event drop rather than a slow-burning weekly rollout.

Watch ‘Prisoner’ from anywhere
If you’re away from home, a VPN can help you access the streaming services you already use. A VPN, or virtual private network, routes your connection through a server in your home country so you can log in as usual while traveling.
NordVPN is usually the option we recommend for streaming. It’s quick to set up, works across phones, laptops and streaming devices, and comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Using a VPN is simple.
1. Install the VPN app on the device you’ll watch on. NordVPN is our pick.
2. Connect to a server in your home country. For example, choose a UK server to access your British streaming services.
3. Open your streaming app and play as normal.
